A few years ago, a friend introduced me to the concept of “grown-up points”. The idea is that whenever you do something “grown-up” for the first time, or handle a situation or event in a “grown-up” way, you get a certain amount of points. Going to your first job interview, getting interested in someone for something other than their looks, buying your first car, paying your first bill, these are just some examples of what would give points – it’s not an exact science.
The whole point of this post is that me and Marianne just scored bigtime – we’ve bought our first apartment! We’ve been looking for an apartment to buy ever since we moved to Tromsø in April, but haven’t found something that we both liked and could afford – until now. It’s a 58 m2 apartment situated close to the city, the airport, shopping centers, SATS (training center), and also has some nice outdoor areas where we can walk Max.
It’s all very exciting, and we can’t wait to move in and make it our home!
Congratulations! Any pictures?
Congratulations!
Congrats! I think I still have you beat, since I\’m married with a daughter.
I hope we can afford to get our own place some time….
Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing you earn more points in the future
\r\n\r\nBTW, you\’ll receive an extra bonus if you manage to visit us in Germany
I\’m on my second apartment already
I only have a cat though, not a dog. I guess dogs are more grown-up.
@Ivan: no pictures yet, will post new pictures when we\’ve moved in
\r\n\r\n@Peter: thanks
\r\n\r\n@Tim: true, being married and having kids is hard to beat on the grown-up points scale
\r\n\r\n@Ralf:good idea about the bonus points, but maybe we can meet in Oslo and then both of us get points!
\r\n\r\n@Eira: I actually think the second apartment gives more points than the first one, since it implies you\’ve also sold an apartment
I agree that dogs must give more points than cats, since cats (generally speaking anyway) require less \”work\” than dogs
\r\n\r\n(and I just won a few points for \”longest ever blog comment\”
)
Congratulations! \r\n\r\nThis is exciting! So many people around me buying their first apartment. I am on my second one though so I feel a bit too grown-up:-). \r\n\r\nBut I think we are all curous… when will you beat Tim?

Thank you! Hmm, I suppose that marriage and kids are the next natural steps (and what my family are nagging about), but we\’re taking this step by step in our own pace
