So, I’ve been testing Firefox 2 for about a day now, and I’m back to using Opera.
Fair enough, Firefox (still) renders a lot of sites better than Opera, but to me it’s the whole Opera-package that does it – email, IRC, mousegestures, flipback/-forward (I didn’t realise how much I depended on this until switching to a browser that doesn’t support it – natively, at least).
So, my conclusion is that I can see why people would want to use Firefox 2 as a pure browser, but to me, for my use, there’s only one option -Â Opera.
FF2\’s not even a pure browser anymore. With every new release, it\’s starting to become feature heavy (I thought the point of FF was to have a barebones browser that can be customized with extensions?). I use Opera almost exclusively, and only use another browser (Epiphany in Linux, IE7 in XP) when the need arises.
I guess it\’s only a matter of time before we start seeing builds of Firefox with an option to use Thunderbird in a sidebar…
