I’ve previously said that Dreamhost rocks! Well, they have over christmas gone completely insane on their web hosting plans… I now have so much storage and bandwidth that I’m having trouble figuring out what to do with it all… The details:
- 20GB of storage (increasing with 160MB each week, so I’m currently at 22080MB)
- 1TB (that’s right, 1Â TB) of bandwidth (increasing with 8GB each week)
Maybe it works but I have tried hostingcompanies with similar promises. Well they were even more insane and offered both unlimited bandwith and space. No limit on anything, it actually lasted with that configuration for almost 4 years and then boom the site was down, and it\’s impossible to get contact with them ( all channels shut off). I had backups of course, so I am planning to pay more for less space now but hopefully more reliable. It was fun while it lasted though
I have thought that this might be a bit over the top, but I\’m not really concerned. First of all, most people won\’t be using any more bandwidth and storage than they already are, even though they can… Also, Dreamhost has been around since 1997, and they\’re hosting about 60000 sites, so I have the impression they know what they\’re doing
