Avada Kedavra!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone - very good movie..
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - very good movie..
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - a bit of a disappointment, since the third book is my favourite so far..

Yesterday, I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with really high expectations, both because I knew that the story would be exciting and well-written after reading the book, and because several people have said that it’s the best Harry Potter movie so far.

I have been disappointed many times when going to see a movie that I had high expectations of, but this movie exceeded my expectations and then some!

A perfect storyline with just the right amount of information about each sequence from the original book before moving on to the next “chapter”.

Special effects that I’m pretty sure they will get an Oscar-nomination for, perfectly incorporated in the movie to create the magic we’ve come to expect from the Harry Potter universe, and to create some of the most intense and thrilling scenes I’ve ever seen.

Music that matched each and every part of the movie, from the rather sad parts to the most scary and goosebump-inducing parts of the story.

Actors that have grown with the story, and in many ways are the characters they’re portraying, who did a marvelous job showing the drama of this story, giving it a very good balance of comedy, drama, and action.

All in all, this is without a doubt one of the best movies I’ve ever seen! In it’s genre it’s by far the best movie, even compared to Lord of the Rings, and it’s amazingly well made, managing to drag me into a magical world of wizards and dragons, not giving me a single second to let my thoughts wander to other things.

The more movies I see, the harder it’s getting to give a review, since it’s so hard to compare movies between genres. In this case though, it’s very easy to give a review… Maybe because I’ve read the book, and maybe because I consider myself an Harry Potter fan, or maybe because I just like movies about dragons, wizards, and magic, with a little touch of emotion and humor…

Best movie of the year:

I\’ve only seen parts of the first Harry Potter movie. Fell asleep during the first part, and believe that speaks for my opinion. ;)
