Today it finally happened, something that some of us have been wanting for a long long time; Opera has removed the banner ads and the licensing fee! It’s free!
I really hope that this will help increase the Opera userbase and community, to increase the feedback we get, thus making the browser better and better in the years to come. As far as I’m concerned, it’s already a fantastic browser, but not only that; it has a good mailreader, RSS reader, IRC support etc etc. All this without imposing it on people who only want to use the browser part.
Personally, I use pretty much all the features every single day..
So “feel free”, download Opera and give it a try, especially if you tried it before but didn’t like the banners.
Now the main argument for using FF before Opera is gone… I guess switching to Opera is the only solution now..
