Surprise parties are fuuuuun!
Looks like surprise parties are really in the wind again, because yesterday I attended my second in only a couple of months.
This time, we celebrated Erling’s birthday, and we celebrated with style. Erling’s girlfriend Linn had done the following: she booked a suite at Bristol hotel in downtown Oslo, and took Erling out to dinner at Big Horn Steak House, while the rest of us gathered in the suite waiting for them to return. Seeing Erling’s face when he walked in the door was just priceless, and he later said that he never suspected anything.
I could list all the people who came, but then I would have to explain the connection between everyone, so I’ll just leave it with: there were about 15 of us (Linn told me that there would be 10, but when counting the names now it looks like we multiplied during the evening), everyone with some connection to Bardufoss (which is a place 20 minutes from Setermoen, where I grew up… I went to High School there, so most of my friends from home are from Bardufoss). It was a good evening, and most importantly; Erling had a really good time! The only downer I had the whole evening was when I realized that I had forgotten my digital camera (as usual…)
Who’s next on the birthday list? These surprise parties seem to be successful every time!
