Pre-premiere of The Incredibles – just an incredible movie!
I woke up this morning from the sound of an incoming SMS. It was from Walter, asking if I wanted to come with him to see the pre-premiere of The Incredibles. My response was of course an enthusiastic and loud YES! He had two tickets, so I asked Ian if he wanted to come, and he was if possible even more happy than me, so we ran (well, took the bus) downtown to Filmteatret with high expecations. Usually it’s a really bad idea to have too high expectations to a movie, but this movie met my expecations and then some!
It started off with a new Pixar short – Boundin’. It was great fun, and gave myself and the rest of the audience some good laughs. After that, I was pretty much either laughing or just chuckling until the movie was finished. Not much to say other than that Pixar has done it again. Great effects, great story, great characters, a fantastic animated movie! I will be very surprised if it doesn’t get nominated for Oscar next year.
Trying to rate this movie with the standard die-scale is revealing some flaws with the scale. What’s a perfect movie? Different movies can be perfect in different ways, but at the same time they can’t be compared. As an animated movie this is as good as it gets in my book, but at the same time it’s hard to compare it to real motion pictures. Anyway, I’ll just have to “roll the die” based on how I feel about the movie after seeing it instead of comparing it to other movies I’ve seen, so:
My rating:Â
