Dogs, all work and no play?

I love dogs! Will I ever have a dog of my own? Not so sure anymore….

I have always liked dogs. They’re just so affectionate, playful, and great company – always listens to what you have to say, and never interrupts (except the occasional bark).

Yesterday I moved to my uncle’s house in Sandvika for the weekend, to look after his dog Jossi and the house while he’s away.

I once read that the best contraceptive is a crying baby. Well, I think the same kind of rule can be applied to people who are considering getting a dog. My advice: borrow a dog for a couple of days first to get a feel for it.

This is how last night progressed:
19:00 Out for a walk
23:30 Out for a walk
02:00 Woke up – my girlfriend’s cellphone ringing (not the dog’s fault I guess)
04:00 Woke up – the dog was probably dreaming, she was whimpering and barking
06:00 Woke up – the dog wants to go for a walk. I politely ask her to go back to sleep, and to my surprise she does
08:00 My alarm clock goes off, telling me to get up. Really want to just stagger to the bathroom and take a warm shower, but a wet nose and a panting dog reminds me that it’s time to go out for a walk – after all, she did wait another two hours.

Do I still love dogs? Of course! Am I still sure I want a dog of my own? Nope!
