Went to see the new Harry Potter movie, was slightly disappointed…
Yesterday we saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and I must say I was quite disappointed.
Without going into details and spoiling the movie for those who haven’t seen it: the two previous movies have done much better in giving a feeling of the magic that is so well described in the books. Also many of the moments that in the book was filled with suspense and great details, were just done in 5 seconds to put it in there as part of the plot. One great example of this is the scene in the beginning when Harry first meets Sirius Black just before the bus arrives.
Another disappointment was the new actor who plays Headmaster Dumbledore. Richard Harris, the actor who played Dumbledore in the previous movies, presented him perfectly as I had pictured him when reading the books: extremely calm and always on top of things and perhaps slightly arrogant.
I should probably mention that the Prisoner of Azkaban is by far my favourite book in the series so far, so I guess I was bound to be disappointed by the movie. However, there were some scenes in the movie that really gave me the chills. An extremely good one was the one by the lake when Harry and Sirius are saved by (censored by the spoiler moderators).. Expecto Patronum!
